Vintage Filigree Openwork Silver Mirror Compact from 1930s-1950

A silver hand-crafted compact using scrolled wire filigree, a meticulous process of twisting fine threads into floral lace patterns.  It has a hinged lid with a secure clasp.

A beautiful example of a 'cannetille' style vanity case with mirror with openwork and detailed decoration throughout.

Likely to be from Malta or Italy.

Circa - 1930s-1950

The diameter is 56mm

Height is 12mm

Unmarked but tested as silver.

Condition: good vintage condition.  The silver remains intact with natural patina.  Please note the internal mirror shows age-related marks.
