Georgian Sterling Silver Novelty Vinaigrette dated 1815

A superb Georgian solid silver vinaigrette with a herringbone style pattern throughout.

There is one central cartouche with engraved script initials (AJ possibly). It is shaped like a suitcase and there is a jump ring attached. It has a gilt grill inside with a diamond pierced out pattern in the centre and a leaf pattern in each corner.

Hallmarked London 1815.

Dimensions - 2.5cm x 1cm x 1cm.

Weight - 10gms ( 0.32 troy ounce).

Condition is very good. It opens and closes very securely. There is a minor surface dent on the underneath commensurate with age and good use. The interior grill top is very good with a few minor marks. No splits or holes. The hallmark is still clearly readable.
