Antique Red Family Photo Album with 45 Sepia Portraits, Inscribed 1851
A beautiful small antique family photo album containing 45 portrait photographs.
The cover is a vibrant red with embossed decoration and a plain rectangular cartouche in the centre. Inside the front cover is an inscription that reads: "James A Ansell March 1851".
The album includes many sepia portrait photographs, several with handwritten notes giving the sitter's name, age and dates. The portraits span from around 1850 through to the 1890s.
The album measures 15cm x 12.5cm when closed.
Condition: overall fair to good. There is a split in the central binding, though it should be repairable. The cover and some of the pages show wear consistent with age. The brass hinges are partly still there, however the hinged part isn't. Please see photographs for details, and feel free to email with any questions.
