A String of 1st-Century Romano-Egyptian Beads

Regular price £110.00 £0.00 Unit price per

This string of authentic Romano-Egyptian beads serves as a vibrant bridge to the 1st Century AD. Sourced from a long-held private collection, this piece showcases the exceptional lapidary and glass-making skills of the Roman Imperial period in Egypt.

The arrangement features a rich variety of textures and materials, from earthy hand-shaped stones to faience and glass. The deep blue and turquoise tones are characteristic of the "Talismans of the Nile," traditionally prized for their symbolic association with protection and status.

This string is accompanied by its original descriptive collector’s note, identifying the period and origin as "1st Century Roman Period." To ensure the safety of these fragile artefacts, they have been re-strung on contemporary archival-quality wire, allowing them to be showcased as a centrepiece of a history-focused collection.
