Victorian Footballer Engraved on a Silver Locket Pendant dated 1883

A very rare antique silver locket pendant with a raised 3d footballer on the front. The pendant opens up to reveal 2 photographs of a lady and gentleman. There is a jump ring at the top so it can be worn on a necklace. The back is plain with the hallmark.

It measures 2.5cm x 2cm x 0.3cm when closed.

The hallmark is worn but probably reads Birmingham dated 1883.

There is a maker's mark which is also worn and looks like JF (James Fenton & Co).

The condition is very good. The hinge is secure and it opens and closes well. The photographs are both protected with 2 borders inside. It closes securely, there is a little bounce when it is shut. However, it's a wonderful item.
